Amplify, SX, and Beyond: PledgeMusic in 2018

On the heels of PledgeMusic’s most successful year in its 8-year history, the company is already off to a solid start right out the 2018 gate.

This month, we’ve announced our second round of participants in Amplify, a program dedicated to nurturing the careers of developing artists. Amplify artists receive unprecedented support through PledgeMusic’s fan-based platform, as well as engage with the program’s valued entertainment and lifestyle brand sponsors.

The five participants chosen for this cycle represent a diverse array of young acts ranging in style and genre, including British rock duo Until The Ribbon Breaks; indie-folk songwriter Ismay; Los Angeles Steamfunk outfit The Milky Way; French art rockers The Dukes; and Nashville singer-songwriter Caitlin Canty.

Several notable brands have joined the Amplify mission as sponsors – an indication of the ever-growing influence of PledgeMusic within the industry landscape. Epiphone, Guitar Center, FYE, and Health-Ade Kombucha are continuing to pledge their support to the project by committing high-value offerings to each of the accepted Amplify acts; with PreSonus, D’Addario, and LSTN joining as brand partners for the platform’s second installment.

Looking further into the year, our sights are already set on a huge activation at SXSW.  In conjunction with NoiseTrade, we will continue to build on the day-party presence they’ve curated over the past 3 years along w/ the Pledge Porch acoustic mornings which debuted in 2017.  We’ll set up shop at The Blackheart again, with leading non-comm AAA station The Current broadcasting live and capturing artist performances and interviews throughout our 4 action-packed daytime parties.  Performers last year included a wide range of independent artists including Temples, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Cactus Blossoms and more, and we expect even more artists to have the opportunity to perform this year.

We’re excited to announce that this year we’ll be bringing ‘A Little Bit of Luck’ to Austin proper with a kick-off party celebrating Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion on Monday, March 12.  Several artists from the notable 1-day festival celebrating the best in Americana and Indie-Folk music will tease the full line-up that night.

The rest of 2018 promises to build upon the success we’ve seen with such artists as Emily Saliers, Dweezil Zappa, Lindsey Stirling, Cimorelli, Bash & Pop, Tori Amos, Belly, and countless more.  There will be some exciting new developments on our site designed to provide more value to artists than ever before.
