Alter K is a fully independent Global Music Services company (Distribution, Sync. & Licensing, Publishing), originally driven from France, and recently expanded to the US (NYC) to export in America its savoir-faire in nurturing and developing indie artists.

Successfully rooted in the Publishing business since its founding in 2008, the company initially thrived within the Sync. & Licensing world, on a global scale, before diversifying its businesses over time following several acquisitions. Its distribution arm Alter K Distribution (AKD), started in 2017, and has been growing exponentially since then, making Alter K one of the major players in the field in France.
2023, Alter K goes to America
From live booking on the rise (Coachella, Lollapalooza, Red Rocks Park, and Amphitheatre…), to the staggering volume of sync placements (incl. 45 just for the latest season of Netflix hit show Emily in Paris), our artists’ and partners’ music is being heard by more and more American residents each day. Traditional media attention and the surge of popularity of our partners’ music on social media platforms such as Tik Tok and Instagram Reels (Shakira, Lizzo, Jennifer Lopez, Brooke Shields, Dwayne Johnson, or Casey Neistat), also contributed to the exponential rise of our roster playlist entries, streaming and shazam numbers.
Our success over the last years on the international scene has highlighted the tremendous potential for the company in North America. To seize the opportunity, we took another step forward in 2023 by creating our US Office (Alter K Inc.) to export our ‘savoir-faire’ in nurturing and developing indie artists/labels/publishers.
This development aims to support our growth in the US in three key areas of expertise: (i) music distribution, (ii) sync./licensing, and (iii) publishing.
Distribution
Alter K Inc. has a dedicated team, local resources, and direct contracts with all the DSPs. Its ‘boutique’ size and versatile setup (distro, publishing, sync.) makes it the ideal partner for indie artists & labels. Alter K Distribution has developed the means to support them, helping them to grow and take their music to the next level. Our partnerships with industry leaders in PR, marketing, strategy and consulting, allows us to offer tailored solutions for each artist and project.

With more than 800 syncs a year, incl. 400+ just for the US territory (HBO, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sony Pictures, Disney+, Samsung, Cadillac, Nike, Adidas, EA Games, Valorant, GTA, NBA 2K, Xbox, Apple, Snapchat, Google etc.), Alter K relies on its US offices to pursue its efforts in building one of the strongest sync. network in the world (music supervisors, agencies, production companies, etc.) in services of our partners.
Publishing
Alter K Inc. is a member of American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP) & Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), as well as SESAC and HFA (thanks to its partnership with Third Side Music). Alter K Inc. provides expertise in copyright management, rights collection, and creators & writers development.
