Indies Still #1; Independent Market Share Was 34.4% in 2015!

According to Billboard Magazine, 2015’s year-end Nielsen Music statistics (based on label ownership) reveal that Independent labels were 34.4% of the overall U.S. recorded music industry.Once again, the Independent Music market share surpassed any of the major label groups in sales.

Congrats to XL (who signed and developed Adele – the #1 album of 2015), Big Machine (who scored the #2 album  of 2015 with Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’), 300 Entertainment (Fetty Wap’s self-title album was the #10 best selling album of 2015), and to all of our members for a another great year for Independents.
