As you’ve likely heard, Indie Week is going virtual this year. Though the ultimate leap to online has been in reaction to current circumstances, a virtual space presents a host of exciting opportunities for expanding our reach and providing additional attendee benefits, all whilst reducing our environmental impact in a huge way (think cutting out domestic and international flights and large scale waste reduction).

Indie Week 2020 will feature the same quantity and high-level of programming as our physical conference

Happening on the originally scheduled June 15th to 18th, Indie Week programming will run online from 3:00PM ET to 7:00PM ET.

Attendees can expect …

  • Access to panel discussions followed by Live Q&As with over 120 industry experts
  • our signature Executive 1×1 Speed meetings, which are 10 minute long one-on-ones with attendees you’d like to meet
  • Impromptu opportunities to connect with fellow attendees on our virtual “Lobby”, and during informal “Chapter Hangs
  • To gain a comprehensive understanding of the current global independent music industry
  • an Annual General Meeting (AGM) featuring special guests Helen Smith (IMPALA), Charlie Philips (WIN), Jeremy Sirota (Merlin) and Rosie Lopez (Tommy Boy).

We are also proud to announce the first of 3 keynote speakers James Thornton, CEO of ClientEarth who will deliver an address on the organizations that work to protect the planet using the power of law.

ClientEarth has a history of meaningful support from within the music industry including artists Brian Eno, Coldplay and David Gilmour. The keynote will be followed by a Q&A, that  will explore ways for our creative industries to become involved.

Technical specificities are forthcoming, so please let us know what features you’d like to see as we build out our centralized platform.

About A2IM:
A2IM is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit trade organization headquartered in New York City that exists to support and strengthen the independent recorded music sector. Membership currently includes a broad coalition of more than 700 Independently-owned American music labels. A2IM represents these independently owned small and medium-sized enterprises’ (SMEs) interests in the marketplace, in the media, on Capitol Hill, and as part of the global music community. In doing so, it supports a key segment of America’s creative class that represents America’s diverse musical cultural heritage.
