A2IM Certification certifies record sales of 50k, 100k, and 300k.
The sales numbers are certified by our partners at Luminate.
Currently, A2IM members may submit one album for inclusion in the introductory class without charge. In the future, this certification will be open to all independent albums for a fee.
All certified records will be listed on A2IM’s certification website (coming soon).
You will be eligible to purchase custom designed award plaques. Information on plaques will be announced soon.
We expect a 2-3 month processing period before the announcement, and we ask that you keep this information under embargo until further notice to coordinate the announcement with the team at A2IM.
Luminate can access numbers from 1991 to now.
A Luminate album equivalent is a sum of sales and streaming data in a single metric. Equivalents are comprised of the sum of album sales (1 sale = 1 album equivalent), the sum of TEA, which is track sales converted into equivalents (10 track sales = 1 album equivalent) and the sum of SEA, which is on-demand streams converted into equivalents (3750 ad-supported audio streams = 1 album equivalent, 1250 premium audio streams = 1 album equivalent)
