This summer has been especially busy for the team at Marauder. In a three-week span, the music marketing firm was able to successfully produce and promote a number of highly impactful events.
In June, Marauder worked with A2IM to produce Indie Week 2019, managing all conference logistics, operations, and event production leading into and through the conference. Simultaneously, Marauder also ran a New York trade mission for the Dutch consulate and music export office, creating music industry networking opportunities between The Netherlands’ music industry professionals and potential partners from around the world. That week culminated with helping Sounds Australia host its first THE AUSSIE BBQ at the SummerStage in Central Park. Throughout all of this activity, Marauder was getting ready for Independent Venue Week, which brought together venues, rising and established artists, promoters, labels, media, and tastemakers to create a nationwide series of gigs. Rev. Moose, managing partner and co-founder of Marauder, gave a Lightning Talk at A2IM Indie Week detailing Independent Venue Week’s impact and growth plans. The initiative has expanded rapidly in its second American iteration, growing from 20 venues in 20 cities last year to more than 200 shows at 80+ venues across more than 50 cities in 28 states.
On top of everything listed above, Marauder secured media placement for its artists on NPR Tiny Desk, Paste Magazine in-studio performances, A/V Club reviews, and radio airplay throughout North America. The four-year-old American music marketing company not only focuses on ensuring that bands secure more attention, but also takes a holistic approach to building lasting relationships within every realm of the music industry. A wide variety of artists and organizations work with Marauder, including some of the most successful independent labels from around the world. The firm positions its clients to grow by approaching each project with the dedication of a long-term partner. Marauder has proven to be a reliable ally in the North American market for international music in general, both in helping to create actionable media plans and develop real business-to-business connections.
As 2019 continues, the staff is putting the pieces in place for the return of Marauder Radio Room at Mondo.NYC, a hands-on opportunity for radio broadcasters to host their own on-air performances during the conference; preparing for the 14th year of M for Montreal; and readying for the next three-day mini-conference purpose-built for the Finnish music industry to better enter the American market.
