Associate Member Spotlight: MetaPop

unnamedMetaPop, is the world’s premier global provider of Remix rights management, licensing, tracking, distribution and royalty services for Remixers and Rights Holders. It was founded by Matthew Adell (former Beatport CEO) and Michael Mukhin (former CTO at Boomrat) in 2015.

There are millions of Fan Remixes across the web that are not being monetized properly for original rights holders or their creators. Remixes are being taken down haphazardly by “anti-piracy” services with no regard to value being created. Creativity is being stifled.

MetaPop is the solution. MetaPop Remix Finder technology locates remixes on platforms such as YouTube, Soundcloud and more. MetaPop can then monetize the remixes on behalf of their partners, grow engagement with the music and then distribute the funds to all participants, including the remixers. Today Metapop has over 65,000 pre-cleared remixes on the service and 7,000 remix artists using it.

Metapop has recently signed a deal with international distribution company FUGA, allowing their vast network of labels, publishers, and artists (including prestigious labels such as Domino, Ministry of Sound, Ninja Tune, and Ultra Records) to utilize their innovative technology.
