Social Networking Simplified: A Facebook How-To For Labels, Artists and Bands

Ever feel like there are new tools, better ways to market your music, valuable resources that are passing you by because you’re too busy, too under-staffed, or not “technologically gifted”?

Keep in mind that A2IM is your “extra employee” and, by extension, the A2IM New Media Committee (NMC) is a team of digital marketing expert members formed to help A2IM members navigate through the often choppy (and confusing) waters of the digital & new media landscape.

For the past year, the NMC has been writing and distributing ‘White Papers’ offering short guides with best practices tips on how to improve your company’s marketing efforts in the digital world.

Extreme Facebook Make Over by A2IM’s New Media Committee Experts!

This week, A2IM’s New Media Committee will be continuing our series of digital marketing white papers with a simplified guide to Facebook for labels, artists and bands.

In conjunction with the paper’s release, we are announcing the Extreme Facebook Make Over Contest!

A2IM members can enter to win a chance to have their label or artist’s Facebook page “made over” by A2IM’s New Media Committee. Don’t have a page? We can create one for you! We’ll pick one A2IM member’s page, and we will modify or create your page according to the best practices outlined in our White Paper.

To volunteer or submit your Facebook page for consideration, email the label or artist to be considered as well as the current status of their Facebook presence to Tim Foisset at tfoisset@razorandtie.com before 12pm ET on Monday, May 10th.

A2IM Spreads The Social Media Gospel, Takes Tech Day On The Road

Serving the twin priorities of education and charting a roadmap for the future of independent music, A2IM is stepping up their popular Tech Day program with a pair of events devoted to the rapidly expanding role of social media in the music business – and ways to effectively employ new platforms from an independent’s perspective.

Slated for February 23 in New York at the Recording Academy’s New York Chapter, and March 18th in Austin during a SXSW breakfast meeting, the events will serve not only as seminars and workshops, but as showcases for the work of A2IM’s New Media Committee, who will be unveiling its latest A2IM white paper: “Social Networking – An Introduction.”
