Fat Beats Distribution is perhaps the only company in the world specializing only in vinyl distribution and has become a marketing force for launching numerous staple stars. Distributing vinyl for labels such as Stones Throw, Rhymesayers, Duck Down, eOne Music and Fat Beats Records, Fat Beats Distribution ships wholesale to customers in nearly every major city in the world. The Fat Beats Distribution customer is likely to be that crucial mom & pop retailer, or tastemaker store which every record company needs support from in order for their record to realize ultimate success. Fat Beats’ credibility has allowed the company to become an avenue for major labels to turn for marketing support when launching a priority release. Put simply Fat Beats Distribution has become the only real distribution option for labels seeking to connect to the vinyl consumer, whether that consumer be looking for Soul, Funk, Indie Rock, Metal, Jazz, Hip Hop or any other vinyl friendly genre. Contact Eric Bayruns at ericb@fatbeats.com to discuss vinyl distribution.

Our friend, SGA President Rick Carnes, had a Huffington Post article published on Thursday August 12th where he encouraged songwriters to not give away free use of their songs but instead get compensated for their musical composition creation. As you know A2IM advocates the same policy for sound recording owners (see Stones Throw Records’ Nate Nelson’s latest “Promotion for What” article on this topic). We need to get paid to continue to create! Please share your thoughts on both articles below.
