Serving the twin priorities of education and charting a roadmap for the future of independent music, A2IM is stepping up their popular Tech Day program with a pair of events devoted to the rapidly expanding role of social media in the music business – and ways to effectively employ new platforms from an independent’s perspective.
Slated for February 23 in New York at the Recording Academy’s New York Chapter, and March 18th in Austin during a SXSW breakfast meeting, the events will serve not only as seminars and workshops, but as showcases for the work of A2IM’s New Media Committee, who will be unveiling its latest A2IM white paper: “Social Networking – An Introduction.”

The A2IM New Media Committee (chaired by Peter Wright of Virtual Label) organizes regular “TECH DAY” presentation events focusing on key digital topics. These Tech Day events feature experts from our member community presenting to a large audience of A2IM members who participate and learn from one another through the presentations and Q&A sessions and are organized around best practices “white papers” that the committee authors.
