A2IM-Created American Independents Pavilion Launches Banner Sixth Year at MIDEM, Exhibits Tremendous Industry Pull
This year’s American Independents Pavilion is underway and already taking the lead as a primary focal point of the world’s largest music business trade event. Celebrating its sixth anniversary, the 2011 A2IM and MIDEM-created pavilion is once again a hub of business and networking at the event, which welcomes over 250 representatives of the U.S. independent music community in an international setting.
Sunday’s night’s cocktail party (w/ sponsoring co-host Counterpoint Systems – (http://www.counterp.com) concluded the opening day at MIDEM where A2IM members toasted the sunset on the French Riviera and discussed licensing and distribution deals, label technology & media support and sync licenses setting the tone for deal-making for the next three days of MIDEM.

Key highlights of this year’s Independent Music label Summit are two sessions featuring A2IM members on Tuesday, January 25th. Co-keynote speakers Glen Barros, CEO of Concord Music Group and A2IM member, and Daniel Miller, founder of Mute, will delve into ways that indies can excel in today’s market by diversifying and maximizing revenue streams for artists. That same day, Daniel Glass, A2IM Radio Committee chair and CEO/founder of Glassnote Entertainment Group, will be a featured speaker on the MIDEM panel “Ten Commandments for Successfully Running a Label.” Throughout MidemNet and MIDEM, fifteen additional A2IM members will participate in panel discussions.
The A2IM American Independents Pavilion is located at R36.18 at the trade show with a large terrace overlooking the French Riviera. Key events include a matchmaking event entitled “Germany Meets The USA” on Monday, 1/24 from 2:00 to 3:30 and A2IM’s nightly sunset cocktail parties:
