On this call A2IM president, Rich Bengloff, interviewed Kristin Thomson (Deputy & Education Director for the Future of Music Coalition), Michael Bracy (Policy Director for the Future of Music Coalition) and Daniel Glass (A2IM Radio Committee Chair and President of GlassNote Music whose roster of artists includes Secondhand Serenade and Phoenix). The conversation covered many of the conclusions published in the Future of Music Coalition’s “Same Old Song (An Analysis of Radio Playlists in a Post-FCC Consent Decree World).” We also asked members on the call to share their stories of success or frustration at radio as we continue building our case to improve radio access and airplay for independent music.

Part of the role of A2IM’s New Media Committee is to help its members navigate through the often choppy (and confusing) waters of the digital & new media landscape.
To that end, we embarked on a project a few months ago to deliver a series of ‘White Papers’ where we aim to present members with a short guide to some best practices, as well as a bit of a roadmap for improving your company’s marketing in these realms.
Now we are happy to present the first in the series –
We hope you enjoy – look out for Paper #2: Direct-To-Consumer (D2C) Business Strategies coming in August.
