tinyOGRE Entertainment – Manager, A&R
Location: New York, NY

Dual reporting to: COO and VP, Marketing & Sales
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Evaluate talent and music and match with tOE business model and potential audience tastes; listen to and evaluate music submission and pro-actively seek potential signings from artists, managers, lawyers, and other sources
• Track, filter and analyze information from sources including MySpace, Soundscan, Mediabase, Pollstar, social media networks and aggregators, radio airplay charts, retail store charts, blogs, tipsheets, message boards, digital music data, user-generated content, and others
• Identify trends and potential artist signings based on research and strength of fit with tOE mission and business model
• Create and manage internal A&R tracking system to monitor metrics and movement on all A&R research artists
• Provide comprehensive feedback to tOE team on new music
• Provide daily and weekly reporting of artists under consideration, including relevant activities and key performance indicators
• Maintain general knowledge of industry trends to stay ahead of A&R research practices and trends
• Research current trends and developments in youth culture and be able to stay ahead of trends
• Provide information to tOE team on musical trending in the market place
• Work with artist management and tOE team to evaluate effectiveness of marketing and promotional campaigns
• Outreach to key markets regarding signed and unsigned artists; analyze and summarize findings in a clear and concise manner
• Coordinate artist showcases, as needed
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry contacts, such as managers, agents, attorneys, concert promoters, radio promo reps, retail contacts, trade and consumer press, tastemakers, etc.
• Interface with artist management to monitor recording process to ensure production is on-schedule and within budget:
o Review and route recording budgets for approval
o communicate with producers and artist management to obtain key production and clearance related information
o Coordinate processing of recording-related Purchase Orders
o Collect label copy from artists’ representatives
o Proof label copy and album artwork
Skill / Requirements
• 2+ years of music industry experience, with a demonstrated track record of finding new and emerging artists
• Knowledge of recording and production process required
• Must have strong knowledge of various genres and the ability to identify artists with commercial potential
• Solid understanding of analytical and financial concepts
• Strong organization and project management skills, attention to detail and ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
• Outstounding relationship-building skills
• Understanding of the recording process
• Candidate should be enthusiastic with a friendly disposition and positive attitude
• Knowledge of studio production operation helpful for assisting in coordinating remix mastering, production, and solicitation
• Pro-active self-starter a must

• Flexibility with hours – must be available to attend evening showcases and recording sessions as needed; some travel required
