Razor & Tie is seeking a Marketing Manager with 3 + years relevant experience. This individual should have a broad musical knowledge across many genres as well as an interest in other aspects of pop culture. The position requires a self-starter who can work both independently and within a team environment. Entertainment industry experience particularly in the music business is preferred. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of successfully-executed promotions and a robust contact list.
MARKETING Developing and writing marketing plans for a variety of CD and DVD releases. ■ Overseeing tour marketing, college marketing, print advertising (including executing own media buys), cross-marketing/partnership marketing. ■ Coordinating closely with sales/retail marketing staff, publicity, radio, new media, and licensing departments. ■ Policing independent marketing companies. ■ Arranging artist promo tours, strategizing and booking travel as necessary. ■ Distributing regular updates to all key internal and external team members.
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT Responsible for product managing a variety of CD and DVD releases. ■ Coordinating packaging and manufacturing with production, designers, photographers. ■ Involvement in a project from its onset (coordinating with A&R department on releases as they’re being recorded, and video production department on releases as they’re being shot). ■ Direct creation and design of tools (sales collateral, product stickers, POP, print ads); write all ad and sales copy. ■ Day-to-day point person for artists, management, booking agents.
FINANCIAL Recommending, maintaining and overseeing project marketing budgets and P&Ls
DIRECT REPORTS Oversee marketing assistant and interns.
