Mute is looking for a full time Director of Radio Promotion to work out of our NYC office. Ideal candidate has 1+ years of radio experience, focusing on college / non-commercial AAA, alternative Specialty, dance / electronic and Satellite radio.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and supervise all radio marketing and promotion campaigns throughout the US and Canada
  • Oversee involvement of Mute artists at radio
  • Monitor emerging opportunities at radio; research and analyze data from radio releases and industry trends
  • Build and maintain relationships with music industry personnel and radio stations across a number of formats
  • Secure tour promotion, in studio performances, on-air and online features for Mute artists
  • Hire and manage independent radio promotion teams across a number of formats
  • Maintain and build Mute’s database of radio contacts
  • Represent Mute at conferences and festivals, overseeing interviews, sessions, remote broadcasts, and general promotion label-wide
  • Track, catalog, and report promotional and airplay activity for our entire roster
  • Maintain communications between internal and external teams as well as inter-departmentally
  • Manage distribution of downloads, CDs, and vinyl to radio contacts
  • Compile weekly reports on radio activity for our active roster and participate in staff meetings
  • Create and document radio strategies as part of the overarching marketing plan for each campaign

This is a full time position, reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, VP of Operations and General Manager. It requires a minimum of 40 hour work weeks in our Manhattan office with occasional after hours work required (shows, record fairs, etc.).
