Contract & Royalties Administrator
Primary Responsibility • Review artist contracts to determine royalty obligations for all exploitation methods • Input terms and other information into the database or excel template and prepare for importing into the Royalty Administration platform (SR1) • Update database as needed to reflect changes in the contract, payment information, sales or performance data • Establish escalation or timeline counters to track sales for each artist as applicable • Audit sales numbers, expenses, and flat fee earnings to determine accuracy prior to preparing accounting statements • Ensure reporting for master deals and mechanical licenses are performed on time
Requirements • Strong understanding of the royalty tracking process, copyright, and music licensing • Royalty audit experience • Minimum of 5 years record label and publishing experience • Ability to create spreadsheets and pivot tables to organize and analyze data • Clear understanding of music contract terminology and its impact on royalty obligations • Ability to complete tasks on time • Passionate about the music business and royalty accounting
