Qobuz, the Hi-Res streaming and download platform, will present a special SXSW® showcase on Thursday, March 17, featuring Chicago experimental fixture Circuit des Yeux, poet, composer, and producer Moor Mother, San Antonio-based composer and sound collagist claire rousay, and Barcelona singer Marina Herlop.
The performance will take place at 7 pm at Austin’s Central Presbyterian Church, which has played host to previous SXSW® events featuring artists including Billie Eilish, Fiona Apple, and James Blake.
Reflecting Qobuz’ “boutique in a superstore world” approach, the showcase will bring the platform’s independent, music and artists first ethos off the app and onto the stage in a celebration of live music’s return to SXSW®. On performing at SXSW®, Circuit des Yeux said: “We plan to fill a gorgeous cathedral with propulsive percussion, meaty cello lines, and elongated vocalizations. We will be presenting songs from my newest album, -io, as well as a few of my favorite long term CdY songs. I am excited to tap into an environment where people congregate to overcome challenges, absolve themselves of their own wrong doings, and try to become their best selves. These existential problems are ones we find in ourselves as a unit, and ones we seek solutions for in a community. So let us congregate!” She continued on to say: “I am proud to be presenting alongside Moor Mother and claire rousay. They are two musicians who have a distinct ability to fuse units into community. I am also proud to be presenting under the Qobuz umbrella. Qobuz is one of the leading streaming platforms for contemporary music. They put artist friendly ethics and audio quality before corporate profit. “
Camae Ayewa, professionally known as Moor Mother, said: “I am excited to meet and be inspired by these three incredible artists that will be sharing the bill with me.
