A2IM Tech Day 2012 (NYC, Feb 21): Video And Pictures

On Tuesday, February 21, 2012, A2IM brought members together at Santos Party House in NYC, for an educational and networking Tech Day event focused on Opportunities in Mobile.  At the end of the panel discussions, led by Cat Kreidich of The Orchard, there was a reception for our members to network on the eve of the Digital Music Forum East conference. Panelists included David Dufresne of Bandzoogle, Jenna LoMonaco of Glassnote Records, Tom Greiter of Mobile Backstage, Paul Anthony of Rumblefish, and Sachin Doshi of Spotify.

A2IM’s New Media Committee plan our Tech Day events on a regular basis to bring together the best and brightest from music & technology companies to discuss the topics relevant to our changing industry. A2IM will be celebrating our 6th Anniversary this year and are planning events from June 21-23 in NYC to share new opportunities and information with our members.

Schedule of Events

Tuesday, June 21 – The Recording Academy NYC Chapter offices, 11 W. 42nd St, 27th Floor, NYC, map

10AM – 12PM Discussion of Video Monetization & Cloud-Based Services

Content owners and innovative new service providers will discuss current and future monetization opportunities in video and cloud-based services. Panelists include Alisa Coleman of ABKCO Music & Records, Gabe Spierer of Beggars Group, Brad Yuan of Beyond Oblivion, Garry Velletri of Bug Music, Ron Schneier of MyVideoRights, and Alexander Kisch of VEVO. The panel will be moderated by Peter Wright, owner of Virtual Label and chairman of A2IM’s New Media Committee. The panel will be followed by a presentation and Q&A session with Yenie Ra of YouTube.

1PM – 3PM Executive One-on-One Sessions focused on Licensing, Data Management & International (NOTE: THESE ARE NOW FULL!)

3PM – 6PM Licensing Day: Brands & Bands

Panel One: Advertising executives discuss how they involve indie music in their recent campaigns. What new ideas have been implemented in recent campaigns? How does new media and the activities of artists and brands integrate into overall brand messaging? Panelists will include Ryan Fitch of Saatchi & Saatchi, Jerry Krenach of McGarry Bowen, and Amy Rosen of Grey Worldwide. This panel will be moderated by Stephanie Diaz-Matos of Search Party Music.

Panel Two: Search agencies discuss how they find the artists that will best fit the agency and brand vision. How do they find these artists? What process takes the band from recording an album to placement in a campaign? Panelists will include Aatish Patel of Creative License and Susan Schwartz of Platinum Rye. This panel will be moderated by Alisa Coleman of ABKCO Music & Records.

Panel Three: Brand experts review recent campaigns involving indie music and what they look for in music to convey a brand’s message to the masses. From tour sponsorships to ad campaigns in traditional and new media, brands are finding new ways to have music reach the masses. Panelists will include Mike Doernberg of ReverbNation, Chris Muratore of Nielsen, Victor Siegel of VerveLife, and Konny Zsigo of Wireless Developer Agency. This panel will be moderated by Jeremy Peters of Ghostly International.

6PM – 7PM Beer & Wine Networking Reception

On Monday, October 18, 2010 from 10AM-7PM at The Recording Academy NYC Chapter office (11 W. 42nd St, 27th Floor, NYC, map), A2IM will bring together our members for a full day of education and networking within the areas of Licensing, Publishing and New Media. At the end of the day, we segue to a beer & wine reception/networking event as our members arrive early in NYC for this annual chance to spend time together before the CMJ Music Marathon begins. We will have a live stream running so our members can watch in real time, as well as an archive of this event in case you miss it.
