Independent IP (IIP) B.V. – the creators of FUGA – in the running for their own panel at SXSW 2013.
Please Vote For Us!
The majority of the SXSW daytime music programming comes via proposals and suggestions submitted by people from the industry through the PanelPicker. Due to our CEO’s successful participation in the past as a panel member at multiple music events and his extensive contribution to well-known blogs so far, we decided to give it a shot and submit our own panel proposal for SXSW 2013.
With the digitalization of music, it is very important to know how to manage your music catalog correctly. With our panel ‘How To Use Good Data To Boost Your Music Revenue?’ we hope to inform, share and discuss the latest trends and tricks for data management and show the importance of ‘correct data’ in a digital era.
Besides our CEO Martijn Tjho, other heavy weights from the music scene such as Stuart Knight (Toolroom Records), Eric Mackay (VEVO), and Niels Teves (Fintage House) will participate in this panel.
The online community will first assess all proposals entered through the SXSW PanelPicker, and as is often the case ‘most votes count’.
Please go online to sign up and give us your ‘Thumbs Up’ before August 31st!

A2IM President Rich Bengloff paused to talk to Billboard.biz following the “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” panel at SXSW Music, where he was in town to attend the 7th annual A2IM member’s breakfast Thursday morning. A2IM member Daniel Glass, founder of Glassnote Records, who arrived after being at the White House Wednesday night with Mumford and Sons, as they performed (along with John Legend) for the Obamas and British Prime Minister David Cameron during the President’s state dinner, joined the conversation as well. Pop & Hiss, the LA Times music blog was at SXSW 2012 and took the temperature on the state of the music industry noting “The music industry in 2012 was characterized as one of “micro-pennies” at this year’s South by Southwest festival and conference. The phrase was used by Rich Bengloff, who heads indie label trade group the American Assn. of Independent Music. “Access and getting noticed is harder because everyone has access,” he said. A2IM members were out in force at SXSW with A2IM members on a disproportionate percentage of panels and our member’s artists creating packed shows. The seventh annual member only breakfast was our largest ever with over 225 members in attendance, coming, going or staying for the full three hours for both A2IM scheduled and unplanned businesses meetings and networking. We thank our member volunteers who worked the event! (pictures below) If you missed it, see you next year!! More events coming up, including events around NARM in L.A. starting on May 7th and Indie Week in New York June 19th-21st including the Libera Awards!!!, check out the A2IM website events page for more!
A special THANKS to Entertainment One and Official.fm for Sponsoring the A2IM SXSW Breakfast!

Dear A2IM members – We’ve really appreciated meeting and getting to know so many of you recently, from NYC to MIDEM to LA and in between. The dialogue we’ve engendered with you about the state of today’s music business and its future opportunities and challenges has been both enlightening and motivating.
We’ve also appreciated the valuable feedback that many of you provided about our upcoming official.fm product since our mission and investment is in creating simple technology solutions for music professionals to help you do what you do best: produce, market, and sell music.
And we’re really excited to announce that the new official.fm product will be available this spring for record label owners, artists, artist managers and other copyright friendly music professionals.
If you haven’t had a preview of the new product, we would like to work with you to arrange a meeting so you may see it in advance. To schedule a demo, please contact Matt Ford at matt@official.fm.
Your input on our product is invaluable, as it’s designed for you.
We have offices in New York and San Francisco, and happy to schedule demos with you and your digital marketing teams. We will also have a presence at SXSW, and will be available to meet with you at the A2IM Breakfast from 9AM – 12PM on Thursday, March 15th.
