A2IM Licensing Day 2011 (LA, Oct 26)

Posted in Events, Member Services, Members Only by A2IM

A2IM will be hosting a Licensing Day for our members on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 4PM – 7PM at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP (11377 W. Olympic Blvd., LA, CA, map). This event is being planned by A2IM’s Licensing & Publishing Committee.

Two panels will cover soundtracks and music supervision.

PANELS:

Future of the Soundtrack - Is the soundtrack dying especially with the advent of streaming music services paying people based on ISRC rather than UPC codes? Some labels and studios are doing disc on demand rather than manufacturing, distributing, and promoting soundtracks. What is next for the soundtrack? Panelists include David Hirshland of Bug Music, Brian McNelis of Lakeshore Entertainment, Steven Vincent of Disney, and Russell Ziecker of Lions Gate. This panel will be moderated by Amos Biegun of Counterpoint Systems.  Bios for moderator and panelists HERE.

Music Supervision – Music supervisors discuss the process, timelines, budgets, and other licensing options needed to maximize impact for music licensed (ie digital rights, downloads, soundtracks, all media). Panelists include Peter Afterman, Ellen Ginsburg of Fox, and Wendy Levy. This panel will be moderated by Lucille Hunt of Mack Avenue.  Bios for moderator and panelists HERE.

If you will be in LA that week, A2IM is offering a member-only discount to Billboard & Hollywood Reporter’s Film & TV Music Conference. More info HERE.

Special thanks go to all who have volunteered their time, to TuneSat for sponsoring this event, and to Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP for hosting us!

RSVP to Jennifer Masset if you are able to join us!
