Roadrunner Records is a label with an extremely diverse roster of Hard Rock, Alternative & Heavy Metal artists. Roadrunner was formed over 27 years ago by founder Cees Wessels, and first garnered attention licensing classic releases from Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth internationally while launching the career of Danish metal master King Diamond & Mercyful Fate. After opening an office in the U.S., Roadrunner became a leader for breaking independent metal artists such as Coal Chamber, Type O Negative, Sepultura, and Fear Factory. The label became an even bigger powerhouse in early 2000 with the success of Slipknot and their metal roster as well as radio success stories with hard rockers Nickelback. Roadrunner continues it’s branding all things rock with additional success stories like Killswitch Engage, Stone Sour, DragonForce, Megadeth, Dream Theater as well as indie darlings The Dresden Dolls, and is always pushing the boundaries of Alt/Rock/Metal.
