Infinita Records is an independent contemporary world music label started in 2008 by the recording artist, guitarist, and producer Lawson Rollins. Infinita Records presents global fusion music at its best, bringing together world-class recording artists from around the globe in a genre-defying confluence of Latin, Indian, Persian, Arabic, South American and European musical traditions. As the Portuguese word 'infinita' suggests, the music of Infinita Records embraces a spirit of infinite creative possibility and wide-reaching artistic vision. Steven Halpern's Inner Peace Music is the original independent New Age label that markets the best-selling healing music of Steven Halpern. Founded in 1975, Inner Peace Music has always been an artist-run label based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After an early career as a dynamic jazz-rock fusion trumpet and guitar player, Halpern began composing and performing a radically more relaxing form of music. In response to requests from his audiences, and finding no interest at any existing major or independent labels, Halpern launched his own label to market his first album. The enthusiastic response encouraged him to record a second album in 1977, and things took off from there. With no distribution available for his kind of music, he created one by taking his music, along with other artists, to New Age book stores, health food stores, and spearheaded the growth of the alternative music market. Halpern has recorded over 50 major albums and about 40 special niche programs. As composer, recording artist and producer, he has recorded with Paul Horn, David Darling, Paul McCandless, David Friesen, Georgia Kelly, and many other musicians. His early albums featured his trademarked Fender Rhodes and grand piano, in which space, silence, and the power of tone were front and center. In 2012, his latest album, "DEEP ALPHA: Brainwave Entrainment music for Meditation and Healing", received a Grammy nomination for Best New Age album. The atmospheric soundscapes, in which he plays all the keyboards and synths,also include two key tracks that feature Paul McCandless and Michael Manring, respectively inspiring and showcasing their own soaring lyricism and sensitivity. KEYBOARD magazine recognized Steven Halpern as "the first-and definitive- New Age keyboardist...who changed the way we play, and listen to, music." He continues to set the standard of excellence in the sound healing genre, and like good wine, improves with age.
