BANDIT RECORDS was established as an independent record company in 200l as a partnership between country music legend GEORGE JONES and his wife, NANCY; EVELYN SHRIVER; SUSAN NADLER and JOAN and KENNY SIMS. SHRIVER was the first female president of a major label in the history of country music when she took over the helm of Asylum Records (part of the AOL Time Warner Music Group). NADLER was Executive VP/A&R. Though neither had ever worked at a label, their different approach to the record business resulted in two Grammy wins during their first year of business. Big Picnic Records, distributed by Sony/RED, launched in 2013. The label has a strategic relationship with Paradigm Talent Agency. Paradigm's Marty Diamond will provide A&R support to label general manager Patti Hauseman. Big Picnic's first release was the Shoestring EP by British singer/songwriter WALL on April 2, 2013. Once upon a time there was a teenage rocker named Joan Jett. She was making rock and roll history in a teenage group called The Runaways. When that band broke up, she met hit songwriter/producer Kenny Laguna. They saw in each other a kindred spirit and set about to work together. Kenny thought she was great, and expected no problem convincing record labels to put out the record they had just finished. But he was wrong; Joan Jett was rejected by 23 labels. They turned down "Bad Reputation". They turned down " Do You Wanna Touch Me". They could not hear the potential of " I Love Rock n' Roll" or "Crimson and Clover". So Joan and Kenny decided to start their own record company, manufacture their own records, and sell them...sometimes from the trunk of Kenny’s Cadillac. Blackheart Records was born and Joan Jett became the first woman in rock and roll to own her own record company. Blackheart Records is currently home to such up-and-coming groups as San Antonio-based female threesome Girl In A Coma (Both Before I'm Gone, Trio B.C., Adventures in Coverland) and Los Angeles' pop-punk trio the Dollyrots (Because I'm Awesome) and of course Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Blue Horizon Records

Blue Horizon Records was the UK’s most influential blues label with more chart success than all other blues related labels could muster collectively. Established by Sire Records founders Richard Gottehrer and Seymour Stein with producer Mike Vernon, the name Blue Horizon has become synonymous with the blues boom of the '60s and '70s and was the home for blues artists like Otis Spann, The Fleetwood Mac Blues Band, Chickenshack (Christine Perfect (McVie)’s first band), Champion Jack Dupree, Bukka White, Mississippi Joe Callicot & Furry Lewis, Eddie Boyd (Get the “Dust My Broom” album), Ansley Dunbar, Elmore James, and the amazing “Fleetwood Mac In Chicago.” In 2010, together with Richard Gottehrer and with the blessing of Warner Bros. Records, Seymour Stein reformed Blue Horizon Records. “Our first signing, the Austin based psychedelic band, Black Angels was released this past Autumn and is off to a great start, having entered at number 50 on the Billboard Charts”. “These are the things: developing new markets and taking chances early on with new artists are what I feel are most important and actively supporting these two causes is how I would most like to spend the remainder of my days in the music business, however long that may be.” The label is also looking to sign and record new artists to help keep the blues alive.

Steven Halpern's Inner Peace Music is the original independent New Age label that markets the best-selling healing music of Steven Halpern. Le Plan was launched in New York in 2005 and aims to bridge the gap between European independent artists and North-American audiences. Our artists come from Pop (Emilie Simon), Hip-Hop (Wax Tailor), Rock (The Penelope[s]) or Techno (Rebotini), but all have in common a home-studio based ethic and a love for DJ Culture. The name of the label is inspired by Umberto Eco's novel "Foucault's Pendulum", and we are distributed by the fine folks at ADA.

Luaka Bop is a world music-oriented record label established by David Byrne and Yale Evelev. The label has been a wholly independent label since leaving V2 in 2006. Luaka Bop has been responsible for compilations representing sounds from around the world as well as the release of full length albums, EPs, and singles from individual artists and bands. Brazil Classics kicked off the label and a set of seven albums surveying eras and artists ranging from Samba to Tropicália. Ventures into Afro-Peruvian and AfroPean musics unearthed the talents of Susana Baca and Zap Mama, respectively. World Psychedelic Classics is made up of three albums and includes artists such as Shuggie Otis, Os Mutantes as well as West African artists of the late 1960s.
