Midem Manifesto – Help Create a Global Manifesto for the Independent Music Industry

On Sunday January 29th 2012, come and help create a Global Manifesto for the Independent Music Industry under the auspices of WIN and IMPALA.

This event will address the urgent need for independents to come together in the face of ever-increasing concentration in our industry to produce a Global Manifesto for the future of our sector.

This is an unmissable chance for all independent Trade Associations and their members across the world to debate and agree a 10 point manifesto to promote and protect independent music around the world.

Meeting Agenda: Presentation of a draft 10-point Manifesto by a panel of  WIN and IMPALA members followed by open debate and decisions on the final Manifesto content. Speakers already confirmed include Jonas Sjostrom of Playground, Martin Mills of Beggars Group, Rich Bengloff of A2IM, Helen Smith of IMPALA, and Alison Wenham of AIM/WIN.

Date: Sunday 29 January 2012

Time: 2pm to 5pm

Venue: Auditorium I , Level 4, Palais Des Congres

MIDEM 2012 Save the Date: Sunday, January 29th 2PM-5PM – Creating the Independent Manifesto for the Future

At Midem on Sunday January 29th from 2PM to 5PM there will be a meeting hosted by WIN and Impala where we’ll meet with our label creator members from around the world to create “The Independent Manifesto for the Future”.

We know time at Midem is limited but:

A2IM Returning To MIDEM 2012 (Cannes, Jan 28-31)

A2IM is very pleased to announce that our members will once again be invited to MIDEM in 2012 at the same discounted rate as we’ve been able to offer for the last few years.  We’ll also once again be hosting the A2IM members’ pavilion at our same location overlooking the French Riviera (as well as our nightly member sponsored/co-hosted sunset cocktail parties).

Some new details for MIDEM 2012 that you may want to make note of now…

*MIDEM will begin on Saturday (Jan. 28th) this year and not on Sunday as has been the case previously.

*MIDEM will conclude on Tuesday (Jan. 31st) this year and not on Wednesday as has been the case recently.

*MIDEMNet is no longer but MIDEM is offering more digital commerce opportunities than ever with the launch of their D2F Camp, expanded Midem Labs, Hackdays, demo spaces, etc.  Digital commerce will continue to expand next to MIDEM’s core business of providing international licensing & distribution meeting opportunities.

*A continued expanding focus on Brands & Artists commerce opportunities.

*More live performance and showcase opportunities!  With showcase opportunities at nearby clubs & bars, Cannes is sure to be buzzing with live music more than ever.

*Music Pitch Sessions on the new Lerins level (3rd floor).  These sessions will allow music supervisors/directors of music from advertising  agencies & brands to take advantage of the thousands of music professionals at MIDEM to track and find new music relevant for their on-going or upcoming projects.

*A re-designed MIDEM layout will include moving the main entrance closer to the A2IM stand just off the beach, all of the pavilions, stands and meeting places moving upstairs to the Riviera level and up to the new Lerins level.
