On Tuesday, August 21st, The Independent Music community held a “Nadler For Congress” Breakfast event at the Union Square Coffee Shop in New York City. A2IM and the Independent Music Community organized the event to thank Congressman Jerry Nadler for his years of support of the music creator community’s copyrights and his support of the proposed Performance Right Act to get artists and music labels compensated when their music is played on over-the air AM/FM radio.
The breakfast, which was hosted by Rich Bengloff ( A2IM) and Elizabeth Healy (The Recording Academy®). Contribution hosts were: Rich, Daryl Friedman (The Recording Academy®), Daniel Glass (Glassnote), Patti Hauseman (Paradigm), Joe Kennedy (Pandora), Jurgen Korduletsch (Gummybear International), Allen Kovac (Eleven Seven Music/10th Street Entertainment), Jim Mahoney (A2IM), Pat Rains (PRA Records), Scott Ambrose Reilly (X5 Music), Thomas Silverman (Tommy Boy Records), Ed Vetri (Wind-Up Records) & Victor Zaraya (Razor & Tie) raised $5000 for the congressman.
