A2IM will be celebrating our 6th Anniversary this year and are planning events from June 21-23 in NYC to share new opportunities and information with our members.

Tuesday, June 21 – The Recording Academy NYC Chapter offices, 11 W. 42nd St, 27th Floor, NYC, map
10AM – 12PM Discussion of Video Monetization & Cloud-Based Services
Content owners and innovative new service providers will discuss current and future monetization opportunities in video and cloud-based services. Panelists include Alisa Coleman of ABKCO Music & Records, Gabe Spierer of Beggars Group, Brad Yuan of Beyond Oblivion, Garry Velletri of Bug Music, Ron Schneier of MyVideoRights, and Alexander Kisch of VEVO. The panel will be moderated by Peter Wright, owner of Virtual Label and chairman of A2IM’s New Media Committee. The panel will be followed by a presentation and Q&A session with Yenie Ra of YouTube.
1PM – 3PM Executive One-on-One Sessions focused on Licensing, Data Management & International (NOTE: THESE ARE NOW FULL!)
3PM – 6PM Licensing Day: Brands & Bands
Panel One: Advertising executives discuss how they involve indie music in their recent campaigns. What new ideas have been implemented in recent campaigns? How does new media and the activities of artists and brands integrate into overall brand messaging? Panelists will include Ryan Fitch of Saatchi & Saatchi, Jerry Krenach of McGarry Bowen, and Amy Rosen of Grey Worldwide. This panel will be moderated by Stephanie Diaz-Matos of Search Party Music.
Panel Two: Search agencies discuss how they find the artists that will best fit the agency and brand vision. How do they find these artists? What process takes the band from recording an album to placement in a campaign? Panelists will include Aatish Patel of Creative License and Susan Schwartz of Platinum Rye. This panel will be moderated by Alisa Coleman of ABKCO Music & Records.
Panel Three: Brand experts review recent campaigns involving indie music and what they look for in music to convey a brand’s message to the masses. From tour sponsorships to ad campaigns in traditional and new media, brands are finding new ways to have music reach the masses. Panelists will include Mike Doernberg of ReverbNation, Chris Muratore of Nielsen, Victor Siegel of VerveLife, and Konny Zsigo of Wireless Developer Agency. This panel will be moderated by Jeremy Peters of Ghostly International.

3PM – 6PM Tech Day: Case Studies Using Metrics/Analytics
Experts from BlinkerActive, DI-Why, InStyle Digital Marketing, Nimbit, Section 101, and Toolshed will review case studies provided by A2IM label members. Metrics/analytics reports will be provided by Next Big Sound and Nielsen. If you haven’t already, read the New Media Committee’s White Paper on Metrics/Analytics HERE.

A discussion of today’s hot button legal/legislative music industry issues including the Eminem Class Action Suit, licensed vs. unlicensed Cloud Storage Services, PROTECT IP Act, Homeland Security Domain Seizures, Rogue Websites, Google’s Dominance, the DMCA (who can use the safe harbor and who can’t), New Digital Services Case Studies: The Value Proposition for Engaging Independents Early & Fairly, the Hargraves Case…and more. Discussion led by music industry attorneys and A2IM Legal Committee co-chairs Eric German (MS&K) and Chris Castle along with Charlie Lexton (Merlin, Head of Business Affairs/General Counsel).
